Ex: a site w/ a form w/ dropdown, I can using only my browser, type some JS into the address bar, add items to the dropdown and submit them.

AJAX allows JS to make network call to grab something & then JS is able to place that anywhere in the DOM. JS can fully manipulate the DOM.
